A different sense of scale.
Vidova Gora is the highest summit of the Adriatic islands. From its heights, the coast around Bol and Zlatni Rat lies below, while the sea opens towards the Central Dalmatian islands. Visibility changes with the weather, giving the same place different moods.
Take time to look beyond the famous beach. Read the folds of the land, the rocky slopes and the distance between inland settlements and the water. The island becomes more than a collection of coastal stops.
The landscape between the viewpoints.
The Vidova Gora area includes protected landscapes and characteristic Dalmatian black pine. Its appeal is not confined to one photographic position: forest, exposed rock and wide horizons form the experience.
Stay on established paths, leave plants and stone untouched and take your litter away. The best souvenir is a clearer understanding of the landscape.
Choose the right approach.
An outing by road to the summit area and a demanding hike from the coast are different undertakings. Choose a route that matches your ability, check local conditions and allow enough daylight for the return.
Take water, sun protection and a layer for wind. Rocky ground and exposed edges require care. If the forecast is poor, spend the day in the villages and return for the view in better conditions.
